The assistance helps meet equipment and scholarship needs of the club and allows less privileged children to participate. The club serves Key and Science Focus Elementary Schools' students, and Post 3150 has been a sponsor for about six years. |
Following Memorial Day 2005 ceremonies at the "John Lyon Memorial" in Cherrydale, members of the Post-sponsored Key-Science Focus Lightning soccer clubs line up with Club Manager Marc Baas and Commander Greg Moscater. The Lightning players have been attending the Memorial Day ceremonies for five or six years to show their appreciation for the Post's sponsorship as well as to participate in the solemn holiday's activities. |
| After the "John Lyon Memorial" ceremonies, Phil and "Grumpy" Vitale, managers of the Arlington Little League, and Sue Williams and Don Eiss, coaches of the Post-sponsored Rangers team, gather around Commander Greg Moscater and two of the Rangers players. The players presented the team plaque to the Post in appreciation for our continued sponsorship of the team. 2005 was the third year the Post sponsored the Rangers after sponsoring the Orioles in the first year. |
The Arlington Little League Challenger Division presented Post 3150 with a thank you for its special support earlier in the year. The Post's donation helped the Challenger Division of "special" children attend the 2005 yearly tournament in Norfolk. Accepting the plaques are Junior and Senior Vice Commanders Tom Kane and Eric Anderson, Commander Greg Moscater, and Quartermaster Richard Hoffman. Team representative Peter Kehoe holds the two plaques after his daughter Laurie Ann presented Greg Moscater with a team-written thank you. |
