| Voice of Democracy Contest 2006-2007 |
This year's Voice of Democracy theme "Freedom's Challenge" attracted 31 outstanding high school students who participated in the Audio/Essay competition program. The First Place winner was Rebecca M. Spellerberg, a student at Bishop Denis J. O'Connell High School in Arlington. Louise E. Mittelman, who lives in Arlington but attends McLean High School, placed second, and Christine Hughes, who also attends Bishop O'Connell, was third. Because of the large number of participants, Spellerberg and Mittelman were advanced to the 10th District competition. Rebecca Spellerberg took the First Place in the 10th District competition and the Second Place in the Virginia State contest.
Congratulations to all of our winners and special thanks to the school officials, parents, and judges who took the time to support our efforts. Most especially, we want to thank the students themselves for taking the time and making the effort to participate with us in this year's program. What you think and how you feel does make a difference. |
