Teacher of the Year Awards 2006-2007
The Teacher of the Year program promotes Citizenship Education in the schools. At the Post level, this year's competition attracted ten teachers from six schools. The First Place for High School (9-12) was Les Albers of Washington & Lee High School in Arlington. The First Place for Middle School (6-8) was Betsy Clevenger of Swanson Middle School in Arlington. The First Place for Elementary School (K-5) was Albert Lewis of Patrick Henry Elementary School in Arlington. Post 3150 nominees took two First Place awards at the 10th District competitions. Albert Lewis of Patrick Henry Elementary School was named Elementary Teacher of the Year, while Betsy Clevenger of Swanson Middle School won the Middle School Teacher honors. Albert Lewis was also named VFW State of Virginia's Elementary School Teacher of the Year and advanced to the national competition.

Les Albers of Washington & Lee High School, who was named High School Teacher of the Year, was unable to attend the ceremonies.
