| Patriot's Pen Essay Contest 2006-2007 |
Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students participate in the VFW's annual Patriot's Pen program. This year's theme was "Citizenship in America". Ashley R. Smith, a home-schooled 8th grade student and the Third Place winner last year, took the top honors. Alexander Kopenhaver, a 7th grader from Kenmore Middle School, was the Second Place winner, and Kimberly Hou, another home schooled 7th grader, was third. Smith's entry was forwarded on to the 10th District competition.
Congratulations to all of our winners and special thanks to the school officials, parents, and judges who took the time to support our efforts. Most especially, we want to thank the students themselves for taking the time and making the effort to participate with us in this year's program. What you think and how you feel does make a difference. |
