Past Commander Connie Agresti and a teacher pass out Buddy Poppies to a group of first graders at Arlington's Barcroft Elementary School, while 2003-2004 Commander J. Gary Wagner explains the significance of the red flower, and teacher Raymond Epperson listens in. Post 3150 went to explain to first graders "What is a Veteran" on Monday before Veterans Day. The students were given a patriotic ruler along with the Buddy Poppy, and information to help them understand the history and significance of the United States flag. The Post was invited to address four classes of first graders. |
| Post 3150 surveyed local schools on the need for flags in the classrooms. The first school to receive the Stars and Stripes was our neighborhood Key Elementary School, where 2003-2004 Commander J. Gary Wagner presented five of the classroom flags to Vice Principal Evelyn Fernandez. Visits to several other Arlington schools also occurred. |
