The weekend before Independence Day 2006, Post members brought four cases of bananas, pears, and oranges – and apples made of Buddy Poppies – for residents of the nursing home at the VA Hospital in Washington, DC. Preparing for the distribution were (left to right) Ladies Auxiliary Junior Vice President Virginia LePage, Greg Moscater, Commander Eric Anderson, Ladies Auxiliary President Karen Stewart, Mark Pando, J. | Members of John Lyon, the Fraternal Order of the Police, and members of the Diplomatic Security Service arrived at the VA Hospital nursing home in Washington, DC, for the Post's Christmas 2006 visit. The delegation visited the 120 nursing home residents and presented each with several pieces of fresh fruit and a Christmas ornament made from Buddy Poppies. From 3150: (l to r) Eric Anderson, J. The group returned to the Post where the FOP hosted a Christmas party for Easter Seal children. |
3150 members arrived at the VA Hospital in Washington, DC, with several cases of oranges, bananas, and apples, as well as smiles for the residents of the Nursing Center. From the left are J. Gary Wagner, Jerry Peterson, Annie McCormick, and Mark Pando. One of the highlights of the 2007 visit was wishing a Happy Birthday to resident "Moe" Moore on his 100th Birthday. |
