Ladies Auxiliary member Elsa Weeks made about 130 of these small flags on Buddy Poppy stands for residents of the V.A. Hospital nursing home in Washington, DC. The idea was a suggestion from Post Surgeon Mark Pando as a special momento for the veterans on Independence Day 2005. The stands not only prevented the flags from falling over and onto the floor but also made them readily visible. |
